Hi ,

This is my first post. Currently struggling with a gambling problem but I don’t want to ring the hotline so I thought I would go on here. I recently got a loan and then spent the whole thing gambling adding to my debt. I get depressed and find it hard to do anything after something like this. So over it. Who else is out there struggling? I think a support group may help. I don’t want to share in public though. Are there any professionals who have a gambling problem and manage to do their jobs ok?

Hi David123

Thank you for posting on the Gambling forum and sharing. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge that you may be in need of some support. You said that you don’t want to ring the Hotline or share in public. If you prefer, you can text in on 8006 anytime for support. Some of the face to face Gambling counselling support agencies also offer support groups. We can put you in touch with them if you would like. You may also find it helpful to have a look at the Choice Not Chance website.

Kind regards
Gambling Helpline Team

Hi David 123
Ouch .... that must have hurt
We all make horrid decisions in our quest to win big - again and again.

This site is struggling to get gamblers in here chatting ... but for what its worth I'm here and I like chatting. As you will realise if you check out all my posts. If you can find them , I find this site confusing and unhelpful ... but that may just be me.

I am saying to myself "Today is a New Day - the past doesn't need to be part of today .... just breathe....

When did you last play pokies?
